CSR
The Art of Giving
More than half a century ago in 1964, our Founder Chairman, Shri Govind Dholakia embarked on a special journey that would touch many lives. Shri Govind Dholakia’s resilient and passionate belief in ‘giving back to society’ has inspired us to set up the Shree Ramkrishna Knowledge Foundation (SRKKF). SRKKF the CSR initiative of SRK, has been thus initiated for orchestrating a grand tomorrow, a grand India.
The idea of committing to CSR came to life during the gathering of Lord Bhikhu Parekh, Dr. Sudhamurthy and Father Valles at Surat on 9th of February 2015 and accelerated after the meeting with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on 24th of April 2015 at Surat. Both these meetings had a profound impact on our Founder. SRKKF associates and collaborates with individuals and institutions that are carriers of hope to millions across the world. We have connected with distinctive heroes and foundations who have sacrificed their lifetimes with their hard work, perseverance and indomitable spirit. We desire to move closer to all those who are the torchbearers of wisdom and knowledge in the new millennium. These CSR initiatives are our attempt to acknowledge and add to their collective efforts, to write a story of triumph, which is inspiring, and to bring hope and support to the needy with commitment.
We support individuals and institutions by providing committed management who have experience in various social and health projects, determined staff and project personnel, finance and allied resources, a knowledge network and most importantly, long term vision.

Our founder Shri Dholakia believes that knowledge is bliss, and education brings knowledge. We place great value on education, and hence have planned to utilize the majority of its resources in this sector. To create, nurture and to disseminate knowledge, we will work in accordance to UN SDG 4, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
To ensure this mission reaches the masses, we have initiated, organized and executed several remedial education workshops, mostly targeted towards the rural segments. Our plans also cover the urban areas through advanced academic programs, personality development, counseling and skill based training activities to develop younger generations, boost their confidence and inculcate leadership abilities which in the long run will herald ‘Knowledge for All’.
INSTITUTIONAL TIE-UPs and Programs
We have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the renowned Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) for dissemination and acknowledgement of knowledge and wisdom of individuals from various fields.
1.  IIM-A & SRKKF Annual Lecture Series: Initiating Annual Lecture Series inviting prominent people to drive debate on significant social issues. The lecture series will be an important event on IIMA’s calendar, and will encourage students and invitees to enter into dialogue – often about difficult subjects – in order to address the challenges faced by society today. Dr. Raghuram Rajan, Former Governor, Reserve Bank of India delivered a maiden lecture in this series in December 2016 at IIM-A.
2. Distinguished PGPX Faculty Award: This is an award given to a meritorious teacher for his/her outstanding achievement or contribution in academics and other socially relevant areas, which will be determined by a special Jury.
3. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY): We have launched a skill development program for workers of the diamond industry and hold an authorized training center – Shree Ramkrishna Research and Knowledge Institute of Diamonds (SRKID) under PMKVY.
4. School Empowerment Program (SEP): Under this program, we have adopted 7 rural government schools for better learning and teaching outcome. SEP focuses on all-round development and providing better opportunities to those schools that are deprived of facilities. We also strive to boost their moral values and ethics.
5. Research Scholarship Program: The SRKKF Research Scholarship is being offered to Ph.D researchers in various disciplines. Through our encouragement, the research of these scholars will contribute to the nation’s development. The Research Scholarship will be made on the basis of academic merit, quality of the research proposal, potential of the candidate and the impact of their research work for societal development.

Winston Churchill once said, “Healthy citizens are the greatest asset any country can ever have.” We at SRKKF believe this to be true and are working to improve the health of our fellow citizens.
To commemorate the visit of erstwhile President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam at SRK in 2013, SRK-Kalam Health Project has been initiated. In this project, the physical check-up along with health parameters of more than 1,00,000 individuals is being carried out in Saurashtra and other tribal areas of Gujarat. The findings of this research project will be shared with Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) along with the Health Policy Authority of State and Nation. To make an impact we have aligned ourselves to work on UN SDG Goal 3.
Besides health, we will collaborate with recognized institutions having the vision to drive research and innovation. We will mentor research scholars and work in tandem on socially relevant projects in areas of our interests. We will also share best practices, latest technologies and in the process, help build a future-ready talent pool through continuous exchange of knowledge and information. This will pave the way for the removal of various narrow beliefs prevailing in society. It will support various constructive initiatives in the society to bring about a progressive social change.
We contributed to BSF, the Border Security Force, at a recent event at Kutch near the Indian border. The chief guests were Rajnath Singh (Home Minister) and Vijay Rupani (CM of Gujarat). In addition to a massive donation for the forces by SRK, we also inaugurated a medical center for jawans at the border. We gifted an ambulance, mattresses, water purifiers, sunglasses, and a compensation of Rs 51,000 for martyred jawans’ families.
We have collaborated with Centers of Excellence and Institutions of Knowledge. We have initiated the SRK-Kalam Health Project, the IIM-A & SRK Annual Lecture Series, and established the CSIR-ICMR and DeitY tie-up. We have garnered support of luminaries and scholars and have a knowledge partnership with IIT Mumbai.
Shri Dholakia believes that, “To feel somebody else’s pain as your own, is the greatest gift you can give a person.”

“Agriculture not only gives riches to a nation, but the only riches she can call her own,” said Samuel Johnson.
To fortify our agrarian economy, we have launched several agricultural and allied industry projects that involve saving water and energy projects, advanced farming awareness, etc. Our earlier experience and knowledge of working on the entire water cycle has been crucial in our agricultural water supply projects. In fact, by 2020, we contrive to protect and restore water-related ecosystems, including well, urban forests, wetland, rivers and lakes to encourage livelihood and farming activities in surrounding regions.
We have established helpdesks in remote villages like Lathi in Gujarat to provide free consulting to farmers on government policies that can benefit them. We also tie-up with institutes to take innovative agricultural practices to farmers in remote places. We organize special seminars and workshops on best practices in agriculture for the farming community. With support and active participation from local communities our team has been able to execute several awareness programs with the best of advanced and smart farming processes. We believe agriculture is the backbone of any society, and we are working to strengthen ours.
